837 Coning Base is designed to produce a hand painted look on T-Shirts with a raised effect. Normally, the plastisol is applied with a heavy paper “cone” with a small opening on one end. The 837 Coning Base is squeezed through the small opening in the cone onto the fabric (this technique is very similar to decorating a cake). After decorating, it is very important to properly cure the 837 Coning Base. After curing, if the 837 cracks upon stretching, the print is NOT cured enough. Proper curing should allow the 837 to stretch without breaking. 837 has a glossy finish and can be mixed with Excalibur pigments to produce various colors.
Create a sponge look with this direct print plastisol base. A thick stencil should be used. Can also be used as an underbase for special effects printing. Color can be added to the base if desired.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
Stencil:Use a thick stencil up to 400 microns.
Screen Mesh:60 to 110/inch (24T-44T cm).
Printing Method:Use a light squeegee pressure similar to a flood stroke. This will insure that the ink will have a large deposit and will be sitting on the surface of the shirt fabric. Extra curing time will be required to create the foam effect and to heat cure the thick ink deposit. Curing trials and tests should always be conducted before commencing with production runs.
833 Super Clear High Density
H.V. Base (High Viscosity)
833 High Density Base is very similar to 838 Super Clear in appearance. 833 Base has a higher viscosity (thickness) than 838 Super Clear. 833 Base has been designed to give very straight edges for high density prints. It resists shear (thinning) on automatic presses. 833 Base is an ideal choice for high speed automatics.
