Making Cold Peel Transfers

Cold Peel Transfers Made Easy: Most cold peel heat transfers offer many options for making a variety of dazzling special effects. This is a special type of cold peel heat transfer that will deposit all of the ink onto the screen printed garment. Most cold peel heat transfers tend to have a rubbery feel and they also have great opacity. Cold peel transfers are used with printable or powder adhesives that are covered over the plastisol to achieve great adhesion on synthetic fabrics and ball caps. Cold peel heat transfers are great for all kinds of glitter transfers but can also be used for many kinds of foil transfers. Cold peel heat transfers are an ideal choice for foil heat transfers because the metal foil adheres extremely well to the rubbery ink film.

TECHNICAL DEATAILS

Heat Transfer Paper: Transfert 75

Screen Mesh: 80-125/inch (33T-50Tcm)

Printing Method: Print the design onto release paper. Ink must be semi-cured through a dryer. It is important not to fully cure the ink. The easiest way to check is to peel away the ink film after drying. If it is not wet but breaks apart easily, it is probably correctly gelled. If it stretches without breaking easily, the ink is probably over cured. If it is over cured, poor transfer to fabric or poor washabilty will result.

Powder Method (For increased durabilty): To increase durability, Superhold powder can be applied to wet plastisol ink before going through a dryer.

Printable Adhesive Method: Screen print a printable adhesive (841/845) using a 60-80/inch (24T-32Tcm) mesh over the entire garment design.

Transferring: Transfer at medium pressure for 10-15 seconds at 350°F (171°C). Peel the transfer cold.
