960 Series - Hot Peel Transfer Ink

960 Series Hot Peel Heat Transfer Inks have been developed for use with coated Hot Peel Heat Transfer Papers. 960 Series inks are very opaque with great adhesion and a very soft touch. These inks are designed to hot peel when screen printed on to coated release paper. Uncoated paper is not recommended, as the 960 Series Hot Peel Heat Transfer Ink System is not designed for hot split transfers. 960 Series is also available in Phthalate Free. 960 series is also available in our Colorpro color matching system. Technical Information for Excalibur® 960 Series

Transfer Paper: 960 has been tested on Tullis Russel HS, and Burkhartdt Freeman’s Ultrastrip 3000 coated heat transfer papers. It is recommended that tests be done on other papers to determine suitability.

Screen Mesh: It is recommended to use mesh counts of 74 to 160/inch ( 30 to 64T cm), depending on opacity level that may be required.

Curing: It is recommended to “Gel” the inks on the paper rather than fully curing them. Recommended gelling temperature is 240°F-260°F (116°C to 127°C) for 30 to 60 seconds. Undercuring can affect shelf life which could cause release and adhesion problems.

Reducers: 960 Series are formulated ready for use. If it is necessary to reduce viscosity use small quantities( up to 3%) of 902 Reducer. (For Phthalate Free version use 902PF).

Squeegee: Medium Durometer (70) is recommended.

Stencil: All types of stencils may be used for screen printing 960 Series Plastisol Inks.

Transferring: 960 Series are designed to be transferred at 375°F - 400°F (191°C - 204°C) for 5 to 12 seconds at medium pressure. Higher temperature range will allow faster times.

Ink Cleanup: Use Enviro Series 2000 Green or Enviro Series TR Blend.
