PVC Free Textle Inks for Screen Printing

A New Age for Textile Inks: Lancer Group is proud to introduce the new Excalibur Evolution PVC/phthalate Free Inks. Evolution is very unique as it represents an entirely new generation of textile screen printing inks. Excalibur Evolution does not contain any PVC or harmful levels of phthalates. Unlike previous versions of PVC/Phthalate free inks, Evolution will not dry in the screens causing choking problems. Evolution prints and handles like conventional plastisol inks and yet does not contain PVC or Phthalates!

Features and Benefits of Evolution PVC Free Ink:

Excellent opacity and a very soft hand feel.

Color/Product Range

Evolution is available as ColorPRO® 4551 Series for Pantone® color matching and also a range of high opacity printing colors and bright opaque whites. Evolution colors do not contain leads or heavy metals, and meet the European Azo requirements.

Intermixing With Other Inks

If PVC/Phthalate Free is not a requirement, Excalibur Evolution will mix with most conventional plastisol inks, however be aware that if mixed with plastisols it will be contaminated with PVC and Phthalates.

Users should satisfy themselves that Evolution inks are compatible with certain fabrics and wash fastness as well as other measures are acceptable before commencing with production runs. Evolution PVC Free Ink has been formulated using non-Phthalate plasticizers and non-PVC resins. However, the possibility of low-level contamination in the manufacturing process still exists. Users must make their own determination of suitability for their intended use.

Technical Information for Evolution® PVC Free Inks

Storage: Evolution inks should be stored at temperatures less than 30°C (86°F).

Curing: Evolution will cure at temperatures of approximately 320°F (160°C). Note: when the entire thickness of the ink film reaches this temperature it will be cured.

Printing: Evolution Inks should be stirred first before printing. Evolution Inks are thixotropic and will reduce with stirring.

Reducing: Reduce with 4503 reducer (up to 5%). Do not ever use plastisol reducers or solvents because this would contaminate the ink!

Screen Mesh: Up to 305/inch (122T cm) screen mesh can be used.

Stencils: Most photo emulsions and direct/indirect stencil systems are suitable. Note: Make sure emulsions used are Phthalate Free to reduce the risk of Phthalate contamination in the Evolution ink. We recommend ImageMate® DZ 307 and PC 701 which are phthalate free.

Ink Cleanup: Brush in some TR Blend into the ink and wash away with water.

Caution: Great care must be taken to insure that all items such as screens, squeegees, spatulas etc. are free of plastisol residue to avoid contamination. It is highly recommended that a new set of tools be used for Evolution before commencing tests or production.
