Printing Method: It is recommended to have a thick ink deposit to prevent dye migration. Although Sport Pro is designed to be bleed resistant, some fabrics and dyes can be troublesome. It is highly recommended to give 2 or more print strokes to build up the ink deposit (print/flash/print) Extra curing time will be required to cure the thick ink deposit. Do not try fully curing by giving extra heat as excessive temperature can cause the dye to bleed or sublimate into the print. 1550 Series Sport Pro Athletic Ink is designed to cure at relatively low temperatures of 290°F to 310°F (143°C to 154°C). Curing trials and bleed resistance should be conducted before commencing production.

Heat Transfers: 1550 Series Sport pro Athletic Ink will make very opaque cold peel heat transfers. The transfer will also have a very soft matte finish. Recommended mesh for opaque transfers is 60 to 80/inch (24T to 32T cm). Transfers should only be semi cured or gelled after printing. It is recommended to use Lancer’s H1 or new C57 hot melt powder adhesives to give extra bonding strength. The adhesive is sprinkled on to the wet ink before curing through the oven. Recommended Transfer paper is T75/105 or Tullis CP. Transfers can be applied at 325°F to 350°F (160°C to 175°C) for 10 to 12 seconds and peeled cold. It is possible to apply the transfers at slightly lower temperatures, however extra time may be required. Tests should be conducted on fabrics to determine ideal time/temperature ratio to prevent dye bleed before commencing production.
